Helping Hands...

"Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others."

-Audrey Hepburn

Lovely quote. Remember to help others around you in no matter what it may be.

Do not worry friend...

"Worry is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do, but it won't get you anywhere."

Very powerful quote.

Remember to not worry about anything my brothers and sisters.

Read Matthew 6:25-34: 25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]? 28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Remember the next time worry starts creeping into your mind, remember that God is control today, tomorrow, and always.

turning a quarter of a century.

As I lay here at 12:26 am on june 26, there are many things floating in my head...Memories swirling, good and not so good ones. Ones that have made me happy, ones that have made weep, ones that have made me stronger, and ones that have molded me into the person I am today... I thank the Lord almighty because He has granted me another year of life and 25 of them at that.

Last night (june 25) my hubby and I went to church and for those of you who know me I'm very shy to speak in public (especially in espanol), but I could not stay quiet. When the time came to give testimonies, I knew I had to testify of what the Lord has done. So, I stood up and thanked God for giving me 25 years of life.

You know, many people complain that they are getting too old and so forth, but life is short my friends and ever year the Lord grants us with another year of life it is truly a miracle and blessing. When I hear people complain, "oh...i'm so old...blah, blah...," I get a little saddened because God is so good in giving us life...there have been very close friends who have lost their lives at very young ages (RIP Alisha & Candice) and that is why every year the Lord gives my family, friends, and me I praise Him! Waking up in the morning seems so normal to us, but it's a miracle in itself!

Looking back on my 25 years, there have been many people that have gone in and out of my life and vice versa...but there are those friends who I will never, ever forget. The Lord is so good for creating friends and family. I would like to take this moment to thank YOU for being a blessing in my life and making me a better person. Without you, my friends, I would not be complete. Some of you I have known for all of my 25 years of life and some of you I have known for only 25 months, but you being a part of my life has been awesome. I look forward to continue on my road to 30+ years alongside you, my family and husband, until Jesus comes again in the clouds of glory. May the Lord continue to be with you all and with me too as I turn a quarter of century.

*my 25th birthday prayer*
Dear Lord, thank you for allowing me to see my 25th year of life.
You are so marvelous, so awesome, so magnificent!
As you know this is a big year for me...
it's a year that i've heard that where the quarter life crisis occurs, but i know with you...
NOTHING is a crisis because YOU are in control. Thank you for being so reliable.
Thank you for being such a true and loving Father.
Thank you for being someone I can always fall back on and look up to.
Thank you for being my fortress and my strength...my light in this darkness.
Thank you for being my best friend through the good, bad, and the ugly.
Thank you for wiping my tears and hugging me when I have felt at my lowest.
You are the apple of my eye, the most caring father, and the best listener ever.
Please forgive me of all the sins I have committed during my 25 years of existence.
I am not worthy of your forgiveness or love, but you still love me unconditionally and eternally.
Thank you.
Please continue to be with my friend reading this right now, the ones who are not,
and my beautiful family and husband. Continue to hug them and sustain them through all.
Please continue to be with me as well as I keep living.
I love you dear Heavenly Father...today, tomorrow, and always.
Thank you once again for loving us and for giving me 25 years of life and happiness.

angel of mine.

have you ever seen an angel? have you ever touched one? have you ever been called an angel?

last friday i was entering my building and there was an elderly lady carrying many shopping bags and i just simply held the door open and smiled...she was sooo happy and told me something that resonated within me. she said, "you are the 2nd angel i came across today and i'm so thankful for that." it was such a simple act of kindness but made someone's day! how much more can we really do to be kind and be someone's angel? we can do so much more... make someone smile today and be someone's angel.

Beauty in her voice- Jasmine Brann

*Oh my goodness!* One of childhood friends just released an album and the songs she sings on it are beautiful! God is good my brothers and sisters! When you have a passion and fire burning inside, God can make all your dreams a reality.

I remember when Jasie and I were younger, we would be at her house and she was always singing a tune! Music was in her blood! We even sang together at our 8th grade graduation from Sligo and it came out beautifully (if I say so myself). :) Music flowed within Jasmine and everyone always knew it.

Jasmine, I am very proud of you and your accomplishments. I always knew you would go far with your musical talents! We will be praying for you and your future endeavours!

Mi gente, if you would like to hear what I'm talking about (Jasmine's beautiful voice) visit her My Space page: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=336261563.

By the way, on her My Space page there is a schedule of her upcoming performances...

Be blessed everyone.

do YOU have motivation?

*One of my peeps today was feeling a bit down and I came across 2 thought provoking quotes. Thought i would share it with you too.*

“Motivation is a fire from within. If someone else tries to light that fire under you, chances are it will burn very briefly.”

“You can't fly a kite unless you go against the wind and have a weight to keep it from turning a somersault. The same with man. No man will succeed unless he is ready to face and overcome difficulties and is prepared to assume responsibilities.”

hmm...

powerful quote. let's think about it.

"God determines who walks into your life....it's up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go."

I will be back later to expound on it.

hymns= classic beauties

Okay, so I had to be batutero (direct songs at church) today for Sabbath School and I absolutely love doing it! You know why? Because I get to chose hymns from the hymnal...himnos that we don't sing anymore. Himnos that somehow are being forgotten with the wave of modern christian music. Lots of people do not prefer himnos because either they are a) too slow b) soft c) boring d) outdated. I'm here to shed some light: hymns are amazing because of the truths it speaks of.

Want to know something? I strongly believe that if a hymn book was left on a deserted island with a few stranded people there...by reading it they would be converted. It speaks about the Trinity (God the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit); His second return; about His birth, His death, His resurrection; about trials and tribulations WE all go through each day; about the beauty of family and children; about giving tithe and offering; about how marvelous God is; and many more important factors important in the life of a Christian. Every verse says something different and if you stop and listen it will shed new light on your spiritual life.

I'm not saying that it's bad or that I don't like listening to modern Christian songs because then I would be a hypocrite, but when you stop and think; you realize a lot of songs out there are 7-11 songs. Let me explain: there are 7 words sung 11 times over. After awhile (remember this is my opinion) it gets tiring and not as meaningful. Something to think about.

So, the next time you are at church or you are having family worship at your home; stop and soak the words the hymns have and you'll be amazed of what AWESOME things it speaks about. True things never die. Let's keep it alive so that our grandchildren and great-grandchildren can listen to the hymns their forefathers cherished and that made differences in many lives.

Be blessed.

a prayer.

Dear Lord,

How majestic is your name. You are the master of all things and we love you for it. It's your Sabbath and it's a beautiful day. Thank you for the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the roof over our heads. Thank you for family and friendship. Thank you for church and for always providing us with spiritual food. We love you and thank you for this beautiful day. Thank you.

your sins will find you out Client 9...and that's what happened.

wow. I wish Eliot Spitzer would have stumbled upon a very revealing verse in the Bible before doing the unmentionable- Numbers 32:23 "be sure your sins will find you out." i don't know...sometimes i am under the impression that some of us think we are invincible and that we will never be caught doing things. *newsflash* the father up above is watching us constantly and might I add He loves us sooo much. sometimes he allows us to be caught red handed for a reason...to learn our lessons and to repent. Eliot, if you are reading this (which i highly doubt); know that there is a God out there who forgives our sins no matter what it is.

God bless

home is the most important place in the world.

so, i was watching the royal family special on 20/20 and realized how uptight it is in the castle. man....everything is timed and on point. i cannot even imagine. ironically, during the commercial break there was a commercial on ikea and it showed how home is the most important place in the world because its where you can unwind and relax. so true. it showed a family enjoying and playing around and being themselves. i can't even begin to imagine how it must be to be a queen and have everything planned out for you even in your own home. Home is where the heart is and there is no place like it. tonight i really realized again how much i love my home and how thankful i am that i am princess, not of a nation, but of the Father who lives in Heaven (and of course hector's too). :)

*home is the most important place in the world.* do you agree?

the desire to blog.

For the longest time, I've heard the hype about blogging and seen a few of my friends master it and finally i'm in! I'm excited to have a place where I can ramble about interesting and not so interesting things. Lol. Yay for blogging!

wonderful quote.

"when you can think of yesterday without regret, and tomorrow without feat, you are on the road to success."

things that make you go hmmmm....
