A Prayer of Serenity.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

Trust in the LORD with all your heartand lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways acknowledge him,and he will direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

What would YOU do? Seriously... PART I

Have any of you watched the show What Would YOU Do? (comes on ABC primetime every Tuesday at 10:00 PM) It is a provacative hidden camera social experiment project that has various situations to see how the public (you and me) will react. They've had different experiments that range from helping a homeless man being beat up by teenagers in the street, a small child being lured away by a stranger in front of your eyes, a waiter/waitress being flirty with your date, racial slurs, etc. etc. It is amazing how the public reacts and how some people do not do anything at all.

This one video I am going to share with you today is entitled, "Shopping While Black." That is when you are being profiled stereotypically because of color and appearance. I think it is also something a lot of other minorities experience as well when shopping at higher end stores or even at times, the regular stores. Watch this video and comment what you would do (if anything at all). It is powerful and you will see different reactions, both good and bad.

Phew...that was some deep stuff, huh? What would Jesus do?? Let me know your thoughts!

God Knows Everything About YOU! :)

Happy Sabbath everyone! Today after church we had a Women's Ministry meeting and our guest speaker was Norma Ramos. She spoke about self-esteem and the importance of seeing your self-worth because after all, we ARE all beautiful children of God. She shared a Bible verse with us that I am sure we have all heard before, but it is totally worth reading again (and again and again and again). It basically speaks about how God knows EVERYTHING (the good, bad, ugly and everything in between) about YOU and He loves you for who YOU are!! Enjoy reading and remember to please leave your thoughts and comments.

Psalm 139

1Lord you have examined me and know all about me. 2You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I think them. 3You know where I go and where I lie down. You know everything I do. 4Lord, even before I say a word, you already know it. 5You are all around me--in front and in back--and have put your hand on me. 6Your knowledge is amazing to me; it is more than I can understand. 7Where can I go to get away from your Spirit? Where can I run from you? 8If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I lie down in the grace, you are there. 9If I rise with the sun in the east and settle in the west beyond the sea, 10even there you would guide me. With your right hand you would hold me.

13If I could say, "You made my whole being; you formed me in my mother's body. 14I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. 15You say my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother's body. When I was put together there, 16you saw my body as it was formed. All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old. 17God, your thoughts are precious to me. They are so many! 18If I could count them, they would be more than all the grains of sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.

23God, examine me and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24See if there is any bad thing in me. Lead me on the road to everlasting life.

Isn't it beautiful to know we have a Savior who adores us and created us in an amazing and wonderful way with such love?

I pray you received a blessing by reading this. Be blessed.

His hands and feet didn't make him who he was...

So, I was watching the Miami Heat vs. Detroit Pistons game with my husband last Sunday and during the commercials they always show the NBA Cares segment which shows a basketball player make the day (and fulfill dreams) of children who are sick or poor.

This one segment really stole my heart because it's of Dwayne Wade (yes, I am a big fan of his) and he meets a little boy who was healthy and then suddenly got a fever and the infection shut down his body... and to make a long story short, he ended up loosing his hands and feet. :(

Mikey's spirit and outlook in life makes me stop and think about many things we sometimes take for granted in this life of ours. His hands and feet didn't make him who he was...it was his heart.

Watch for yourself and leave your comments and thoughts.

Be blessed.

Imagine if everyone was the same? Thank God we aren't.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14

Have you ever thought about what if everyone were the same, did the same things, said the same things, acted the same way? It's like the body of Christ (the church): The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12). So imagine if there were all hands in the body of Christ? What if there were just feet? Would we function well? I think not. Like the HOLY BIBLE says, "the body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts (ears, lips, tongue, feet, legs, fingers, etc.), they form one body." That being said, it would useless if we all did the SAME thing in church, in the ministry, or on the road to Heaven. That's the beauty of it...we are all different and together we work as one to accomplish the mission-- to bring more souls to Christ.

There are some out there who are skeptical when youth help with ministries that are not exactly associated 100% with their home church...even though it's still a church/God related ministry, it still surprisingly brings animosity and resentment. There are those who use a bible verse and say, "You must help your home church only." That small-minded ideology is destructive and can be detrimental to the real/true purpose---bringing souls to Christ. What if everyone just stayed in their home churches and said, "i am only going to help my church and that's it." Where would the ministries such as Amazing Facts, Esperanza TV, Hope Channel, Ministerio Vuelve, Ondas de Esperanza, Voice of Prophecy, The Power of the Lamb, Por Cristo Jovenes, Jesus wears Jeans, Movimiento Joven Adventista (MJA), Generation Youth for Christ (GYC) be if everyone used that small-minded ideology? They would NOT exist my brothers and sisters. Praise the Lord for ministries whose missions are to preach the good news to the entire world!! Hallelujah!!

Please keep in mind that I am not saying to not help your home church, all I am saying is that while those who are in the ministry still help their home church, it is a calling from the Lord with whatever you help with. Some people have the calling from the Lord to help direct Sabbath School, while others have the calling to be an anciano (elder) of the church, while others get called to be director of sound, of jovenes, to be Sabbath school teachers, to be deacons/deaconess, multimedia, and some get the calling to help out a ministry (like the ones mentioned above). My brothers and sisters, the work of the Lord should not be taken lightly...not at all. While everything ultimately depends on our Lord and Savior, a lot depends of us earthly beings. Thank the Lord we are all called for different things...that is the beauty of the body of Christ. Some of us are the ears, some the mouth, some the feet, some the fingers...We are all different!!!! Praise the Lord.

As we are in the last days, let us not forget the true purpose of this race we are running...bringing more of our friends, family, loved ones, and the human race to the foot of the cross of Jesus. Imagine if you knew a massive earthquake would devastate your town soon? Wouldn't you want to go tell everyone of the destruction that is about to occur and tell them about the only place you know will shelter them and save them? The same with the coming of the Lord. It is going to occur very soon and we must tell everyone about the only place that will shelter them and save them---the arms of our Holy Redeemer.

Thank God we are all different. Aren't you glad we are different?

God bless you as you spread the good news in whatever form that may be.

Where....

"Where there is NO vision, the people perish."

Take a moment to digest that and leave a comment telling me what you think that means.

Be kind and pass it on.

TV usually has a lot of negative messages and commercials are usually are full of junk...but one evening not too long ago I was watching this random Liberty Mutual commercial and fell in love with the simple, but beautiful message. If you are helped or have a kind deed done to you, pass it on. Imagine if we all did that? Wow. Powerful stuff.

Take a look at this worthy commercial for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMwoexR1evo

Pass on the love and the kind deeds even if it is a stranger. What do you think Jesus would do?
