true friends.

Do you have countless acquaintances, lots of friends, a select group of close friends, and a handful of best friends and yet feel so alone? It's truly an awful feeling.

True friends are those who are not only there for the HaPpY moments, but also for sad ones.

I want to share some quotes about friendship that I found to be so meaningful and I pray you find them of value as well:

"Friends always show their love. What are brothers for if not to share troubles?"
- Proverbs 17:17

"Some friendships do not last, but some friends are more loyal than brothers."
- Proverbs 18:24

"True friendship is felt, not said."
By Mariecris Madayag

"Friends are God's way of taking care of us."

"It's the friends you can call up at 4am that matter."
- Marlene Dietrick

Best friends are like diamonds, precious and rare
False friends are like leaves, found everywhere."
- Anonymous

A true friend is one who calls you if you have missed church, work, or a social gathering to see if you are even alive.

"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."
~ Walter Winchell

"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light."
~ Helen Keller

"Some people come into our lives,
leave footprints on our hearts,
and we are never the same."
-Anonymous

I thank God for my true friends, do you?

coping with 3 deaths.

A lot of death has hit this weekend (my best friend's aunt, a Godly young lady from Mt. Rainer church, and my grandmother) and I have hit a low twice... I truly know that the Lord is coming very soon...and I know death has to occur, but I feel so down at times. God is my sustainer, my guide, my refuge...His word is beautiful and comforting...It is what has been sustaining me through this rough patch. I wanted to share a Bible verse I read that comforted me and I am sure will comfort you in your time of sadness:

2 Corinthians 1:3-7
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full or mercy and all comfort. 4 He comforts us every times we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us. 5 We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ. 6 If we have troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation, and if we have comfort, you also have comfort. This helps you to accept patiently the same sufferings we have. 7 Our hope for you is strong, knowing that you share in our sufferings and also in the comfort we receive.

God's word (the Holy Bible) is beautiful and never fails us. There is a song I have been singing to all day today that talks just about that and also has given me comfort in this time of sorrow:

Tu Palabra By Marcela Gandara
Tu palabra es como aceite sobre mis heridas
Es el agua en el desierto,
y el calor en el invierno.
Tu palabra es la voz que me habla en la mañana
Es mi consejo cada día
y en las pruebas es mi guía

CORO:
Podría estar perdido
como un náufrago en el mar
y aun perderlo todo hasta el aliento
Podría estar hambriento
como un niño sin hogar
pero yo sé que tu palabra
siempre a mi me sostendrá

Tu palabra es como dulce miel para mis labios
Es la perfecta melodía
que me deleita cada día
Tu palabra es mi refugio en medio de las pruebas
en la tristeza es mi alegría
en soledad mi compañía
